It all started 4 months ago when my little Kendyl was playing at her friend's house, Dane. She had an "accident" and his mom changed her clothes and put her in Dane's, including Superman Underwear! She was so impressed with them. She's got a thing for superheros and she loved the little pocket in front. :) We couldn't give them back until we had purchased some for her. So we bought mini marvel kind with Spiderman, the Hulk, Batman, and Superman.
Now her big sister (6 years old) wants to wear them all the time too. So today... we had to take Makenzie to Kaiser to have her back checked out (she slid down a fireman pole on the play ground next door and landed hard hurting her back). It wasn't until I had to put her in that little robe that opens in the back that I realized she was wearing way too small boy underwear (and that it wasn't normal to anyone else but us).
That wasn't so bad. The doctor and I laughed about it, but then when we were sent down to the x-ray room, I didn't warn the tech down there. He seemed very disgusted that a girl was wearing boy underwear. I'll bet he thought she was borrowing a brother's dirty pair or something. I felt my face heat up as I tried to explain she liked boy underwear. Strangely enough, that didn't make it sound any better to him. :) I was relieved when he asked me to leave while they took her xrays. (I hate how I always turn red when I'm embarrassed- I wish I could hide that better).
Oh brother. It must be true what moms say, "Make sure you always wear clean underwear because you never know when you'll have to go to the hospital." Except for I think it should also say something about not wearing the other gender's underwear to the hospital as well. :)

At least she had some on, right!? It sounds like maybe the tech didn't have children. You learn not to sweat the small stuff. And girls can like super heros too!
Thank you for the nice comment you left on my blog. We have another thing in common... I too turn red when I'm embarrassed. I can feel it creaping up my neck and I just scream to myself in my head "STOP that!!!"
Love your new blog! The pictures are great. But you will still post your paintings, won't you!?
Too funny!
