Every Monday Heather Bradley (the mom to the right) and I would go into our kid's class last year and do music time with them for about 20-30 minutes. Our main goal was to be silly with them and let them be crazy and love music. We didn't want it rigid or something to get in trouble about. Sometimes all we did was play kazoos to songs that I played on the guitar. Oh- as a side note Heather Bradley is an extrememly talented singer/song writer and one of her children's songs won a grammy last year! She's super cool and wacky.
I cut little sections of every song that we played that day. The order that you hear in this clip is:
1. The Color Song (from Wee Sing) We started with this song each time.
2. Feeling Groovy (by Simon and Garfunkel) It's very short here- it's when the video is showing Kendyl playing off to the side- like always. :)
3. Mean Mister Nightmare (by Seth and I) We wrote this when were in college so I could use it in my student teaching. The kids are singing in pirate and opera voices- a favorite!
4. Cleo The Butterfly (by Heather Bradley and her son Finnley helped write it too)
5. Time For Bed My Babies (by David Golden) He's my friend, Katie's dad. Katie and I were friends in college and that's when he taught me this song. He sang it for his kids growing up and so do I now. We always finished with a lullaby and would turn out the lights, have them lay on the ground, and Heather would walk around stroking their backs while I played and sang. It was a good way to calm them down because we could get them pretty riled up.
Oh by the way, there's a part thrown in where Ms. Finnley (that's what the kids called her becuase she was Finnley's mom) has just said something funny about their teacher (Ms. Burns) the camera goes to Ms. Burns and then back to us. What she says sounds like something else, but what she really says is that we were "all benched that day!" She played basketball professionally in Japan for a few years and so she uses those terms with the kids. Anyway, I guess we were in trouble. hehehe Miss you Heather and Ms. Burns. :)

If I was a kid, I would insist on having you for a teacher. Everything you do is so entertaining and great. No one should be this good at everything. I love the Nightmare song... and I didn't know until now that you play guitar. You are Superwoman.
