Tricking or Treating?

Definitely Treating:
The little girl's Halloween Party

(Here's some of the guests)
We fed them grilled cheese sandwiches and witch's brew (root beer with dry ice- a real crowd pleaser) and played all sorts of games. At the end we put on a short Disney Halloween movie as the parents came to pick them up.
Here they are on a "ghost hunt" (hidden Tootsie roll suckers wrapped up like ghosts) and playing outside for a little while.
This was cute. Makenzie and her best friend at school (Jordan) kept running off together pretending different things (usually Pokemon) and so we snapped a picture of them from across the lawn. Jordan caught on to what we were doing and decided to hide and peek from behind Makenzie.
Eating donuts off a string. I know now why parents always do this at parties. It's so funny to watch!

Tricking!

Finding this when I came home from my RS Presidency Meeting one night. Seth and the girls made their own pumpkin and left on all the orange lights to greet me for a surprise. (Kendyl and Makenzie each did an eye and Seth made the mouth) It was fun finding these pictures on the camera.

Treating: My Preschool Party
Here's the gang!
And here they all are closer up.

We do this silly song and dance sometimes in school called "Tooty-Ta". It's where the kids add on an action each time and by the end you have your thumbs up, elbows back, feet apart, knees together, bottoms out, tongues out, eyes closed, and spinning around. It's so funny. I'm glad I got some pictures of them.

Tricking!
This spider was in our room above our bed and got bored of that I guess so one morning he climbed down the stairs and situated himself on our light fixture above our kitchen table.

Tricking and Treating!
Here I am teaching the girls how to make a spooky kind of bread stick to look like lady fingers. Makenzie painted the almonds with red food coloring and we put those on to look like nails. ewww

We made them for a girl party I threw last Friday where we talked about a certain series of books with vampires and werewolves in them and didn't stop talking till after 1:00 am. :)

Treating!
Our ward trunk-or-treat and then trick-or-treating around the neighborhood.

Here's Kenzie getting ready doing her own makeup and Kendyl intently watching learning how to do it for next year all on her own. :)
Hilly and her girls came out for it! We had such a fun time with them. Cadi was a beautiful Belle and Reni was the most awesome werewolf. Hilly was the best ever "Ugly Betty". It was too good! It's the only Halloween she'll have braces and she already had glasses so it all just fell into place. :)
And here we are! For more detail pictures of our costumes look on my art/project blog here.
And here is the aftermath of it all. After sorting and counting out candy and making a complete mess of the place (okay so it was already a mess after sewing costumes so much) we ate omelets and drank juice so our insides wouldn't completely rot and crashed in our beds.

What a great Halloween. I let Kenzie stay home from school today to be able to unwind from it all (beside she was getting a sniffle) :) This is the way we like it, to be so worn out and sick of it that we can get ourselves to put it all away for a year instead of decorating with spooky things all year long. awwww

I love the costumes. They are incredible. You are very talented, despite what they say. (j/k). I love the pics you did, you will have to teach me how to do that one day. Oh, and it is good to see that you are a fan of good books.. I get to pick up #3 this next week after my talk. Something about not being able to focus on ANYTHING else when I am reading. Oh, and Mads did TudieTah (sp) last year... very very entertaining.

I love your costumes. What a bunch of good lookin' vampires! Alas I have no sewing ability, but maybe someday. I'm still working on learning patience, so I can tackle something like costumes. A friend of mine is trying to talk me into sewing a Belle costume(the blue one) for next year. She's great at sewing, so she'd help me a ton, but I'm still a little nervous. I'm a perfectionist too, so I better start like next month if I want it done by next year. Ha.

your halloween looks like it was so much more fulfilling than ours... :) probably it's just that spider. I mean, anyone would see that spider and realize that it's just not halloween without one.

Time for Thanksgiving decorations!! woot!
