It was fun to have them come to the girl's schools. First we surprised Makenzie by hiding and scaring her when she came around the bend. The top corner picture is of grandpa grabbing and hugging her. We then went to the school Kendyl goes to and where I teach. The other pictures are of them playing in my classroom on the white board and I took a pic of the board in the front of the school that showed I was the teacher of the month. :) It was fun to have them come and see that.Next my dad took them geocaching with his little gps unit. The girls were excited to find hidden caches all around our neighborhood. I guess it makes sense they would be stashed there in all the mountains and bushes. If you don't know what geocaching is the definition is here and the official website is here. It's so fun to do. You feel like a pirate on a treasure hunt. So here are some random pics from our adventures. Kendyl is cute and holding her map in one of the pics. She was excited for grandpa to come because she knew they would go geocaching so she made her own map and my dad pretended to follow it the whole time. He's so cool. We went into that tunnel that had gang tagging in it :( and a big puddle that the girls said was quick sand. My dad even found a cool knife on the ground which we invented the story of a gang fight in there and someone dropped their knife. What adventures.
Here are some pics of their treasures they rounded up. One of the pics has a few extra kids in it. Well we had some friends dropping by at the same time that came to stay with us and my dad was so sweet he took them out all again to the same caches so those boys could get some treasures too. One of the treasures was a Sponge Bob that actually had Kenzie's name on it! (The truth is that my dad found that in a different cache in another state and brought it here with him, went ahead of us while the girls were in school and hid it in one of the caches we would go to so Kenzie could find it) She completely freaked out! What a fun idea and what a fun grandpa! We are so lucky. :) Inside the Spongbob head was these secret little words you could look in and see. Kenzie took a picture of it. It's about Atlantis. Cute girl.
Our other favorite part about their visit was gardening with grandma. It made me so so so happy and reminded me of being a little girl. The daffodils had just started poking their green out of the ground and my mom taught them how to weed and trim rose bushes. Those silly girls were out there for over an hour in the freezing spring weather here. Ever since their visit my Kendyl has wanted to garden every day. She loved that time with her grandma and Makenzie too.
We had such a fun time with them and can't wait to see them again next weekend when they come for Makenzie's baptism! It's nice living closer to them so we can have more frequent visits.

Mackenzie's baptism is next week!? How is the dress coming? I guess I need to have your mom come over and teach me a thing or two about gardening!
Your parents sound awesome- and are doing a fabulous job at being cool grandparents! I've never heard of geocaching but it sounds sooo fun! I look forward to seeing pics of Makenzie's dress. :)
We LOVE geocaching!!!!! When the weather is nice we go all the time. Our "code" name is the "treasure hunting toddlers." My 2 oldest have outgrown toddler status this year and so we might have to come up with something new. Anyway, we just have such a blast every time we go.
I'm glad that your visit with your parents was so great. I love grandparents!!
