Ode to my Loberly Overalls

So... a week or two ago I was searching through the depths of my closet and rediscovered my ol' pal overalls. Oh my beautiful comfy overalls, how I had missed you. It was after church on a Sunday. I pulled them out, put them on, and frolicked around the house. We even went to Seth's parents' house for dinner. (Sorry if my grammar on using apostrophes was wrong in that last sentence). It was a quiet Sunday evening filled with comfy bliss.

Today I decided to have another overall adventure. It wasn't a quiet day spent with kind-hearted family. I needed to go shopping, take Kendyl to ballet, and I had lunch at the park with some friends in the neighborhood. Granted I really don't see anyone now a-days wearing these beauties but does that really mean I should get the looks I got in Walmart? I mean, come on! We're in Walmart for goodness sakes people. Now Tar-jah (Target) might be a different story. Girls in their cute springy dresses and clothes looked at me in my comfy splendor and seemed to almost laugh. Honestly! I know it's not 1999 anymore, but can't a girl wear overalls? I found this picture that looks just like what I looked like at the store. You can't tell me I didn't look hot and in style. :) Well okay, not exactly, but close enough.

I searched around the store... surely there must be someone that still wears them.

Yup! I found him. He was eating a full cob of corn right in the produce isle! No JOKE! In his cart were the peels to his corn and he was seriously chowing down on a huge piece of corn on the cob. He wasn't just tasting it to see if it was fresh. The thing was fully husked and he was on his second typewriter row.

Okay, so I guess no more overalls. :( Wahhaahaa. Which makes me very sad, but I'm sure Ij'll get over it since I only started wearing them again a few weeks ago. Still. Is there any chance these can come back in style again? Sexy no?

Tell me what you think...

1. A come back is on the way.
2. Not in this life.
3. Overalls not in fashion? What do you mean? I've never taken mine off.

If you are wearing them then the answer is number 1 for sure...you are such a trend setter!

Bad visions of man eating corn on the cob. Weird.

W-O-W! I can not believe your experience in Walmart! LOL Why can't I go there with you?!

I have a pair of overalls that I LOVE! Except when I wear them, my belly pooches out (well, not my belly, but the extra denim) and I have had comments from people asking if I'm pregnant :( :) I still love 'em!

I say wear them if it makes you frolic. Anything that makes one frolic is a good thing in my opinion. I had overall shorts once, cutest darn things in the world. Not so cute on me, looking back at pictures. But do I care? NO!!! Still on of the best pieces of clothing I owned. Wear them like the proud mama you are. Afterall, you are the one with the girls who wear items of clothing that few other kids would dream of. Where do you think they learn it from?

I thought overalls were still okay once in a while. and, btw, you used your apostrophe correctly.

Let me just say that I was having those very thoughts a couple of weeks ago. I was going through my clothes and came across 3 of my favorite pairs of overalls! I LOVE overalls and I think they are on the virge of a come back because you put yours on again. My overalls are even from the GAP. Now that has to be stylish don't you think? Really, I wanted to wear them while I was prego and afterwards because they just hide that whole area if you know what I mean. I am definately voting yes on overalls since I with held mine from the D.I. pile :)
