So it started with the traditional breakfast in bed, but Seth added a fun twist to it. He made a funny face looking at her. She was super excited. What a creative dad. Then we ran down stairs to watch her open presents. She opened the present from Kendyl first which Kendyl saved up for and paid all by herself. (I actually let her keep half her money so she wouldn't use up all her savings, but it's sweet she wanted to). It was of course some horsey figures that Kendyl promptly opened and has been playing with ever since. Luckily Makenzie has been quite distracted by her other present to not care which was....

A nintendo ds and two games! She was completely blown away! It was adorable to see her genuine reaction. Mom was quite surprised as well when dad bought it a few days ago. Makenzie has been begging for 2 years for one. Mom has been putting her foot down about not getting started into any of that stuff, but dad was just too excited. :) It is fun though to give them something that they dream about getting. We limit her to 30 minutes two times a day. For the rest of the day she had a party in her classroom where mom and Kendyl brought in treats and then we played after school and went as a family to her favorite restaurant for dinner- Denny's. :)

We got home way late from having a fun day and listened to lots of fun messages of silly singing and wishing Makenzie a Happy Bday. Thanks to all that remembered our sweet girl who is now 8! So here's a look at the last 8 years. She has been one fun, quirky, intelligent, creative, kind, genuine little friend and we are so blessed to have her in our family. She adds so much to us and I can't imagine life with out her.

of course I'm glad to claim many of those photos that I took of your cutie Makenzie. I haven't ever seen the black & white one on the bottom. I think that's the most I have seen her look like you Karalenn!
