Kendyl is in afternoon Kindergarten and so she could be home to watch President Obama's inauguration with me. I had her sit down while he was being sworn in and told her how special it was to see a new president come into office without there being a war over who would become the next president of our country. We talked a little about our freedoms and democracy. Anyway, today she told me something funny...
"Mom, you know how we watched the egg nog- eration a few days ago and you said it was special?"
"Yes."
"Well my friend Connor at school said he hates Brocolli Obama."
I don't think it's funny that these poor kids are taught this young to hate people/political figures their parents don't like. I just think it's cute that she thought it was called an egg nog-eration and his first name was Brocolli. Minor technicalities :) I'm sure she remembers that it's a special thing to live in a free country.

That totally sounds like Miss Kendyl. Cute.
I agree it is sad that we are so mouthy about not liking leaders to the point of passing down that hate or complaining to our children. Even if you didn't vote for don't agree with him, we need to support him. Shouldn't that just be more motivation to pray for him or to get involved.
Hehe..that is funny. I like broccoli!
I agree, children should not be thought to hate anyone and to have their own views and many times, as I guess is natural to a point, it does not go that way.
That is pretty funny! (Just so you know, I've been stalking you on your blog every now and then. Kristie gave me hers and I saw the link to yours, so I've been your blog stalker ever since...I'm a creeper.)
When I was in NJ during the George Bush/Al Gore campaigns, my four year olds would tell me that Bush was an alcoholic and Gore was a baby killer. Pretty sad commentary on what parents were saying in front of their children. no respect. However, I love your daughter's Broccoli Obama! That's cute!
Oh, and I got your blog address somehow so I hope you don't mind my reading it! This is Pat Bahr, by the way! I miss you!
